Supporting the next generation of Native Scholars!
San Fernando, CA, May 6, 2025 – Pukúu Cultural Community Services opened its Native Scholars Program this spring. Every year, Pukúu seeks talented college students interested in uplifting Native cultures and communities. Students may apply to:
- Tomiar Rudy Ortega Sr. Scholarship
- Cultural Defender Caitlin Gulley Memorial Scholarship
- Tribal Senator Austin Martin Memorial Scholarship
Through our three scholarships, Pukúu works to help transform the educational systems upon our indigenous lands for a healthier and more just world, for our Ancestors, Present and Future Generations.

ABOUT US
Pukúu Cultural Community Services is a Native American nonprofit with a mission is to invest in sustainable programs that bridge and improve opportunities for American Indians with culturally-based community services now and for future generations. Members of the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians, the California Tribal Nation of northern Los Angeles City and County, formed Pukúu in 1971 to better the lives of their people.
