Angeles National Forest, CA– Rudy Ortega Jr. along with the Tataviam Senior Program (Rudy Ortega Sr. Park staff), Haramokngna staff, and volunteers have began a reconstruction phase, an extensive plan envisioned since the centers opening in 1997.
Haramokngna– Los Angeles County’s only Native American owned and operated cultural center serves as a learning facility to the local community offering a vast amount of services from seasonal camps, cultural workshops, conferences, events and more. It’s visitor’s center features information of the regional tribal history, and display items such as Native American basketry, instruments, rock art, and a convenient snack store.
For over 15 years, Haramokngna has remained Los Angeles’ hidden gem, located just 14 miles up the Angeles Crest Highway and maintains its purpose just like its namesake– the place where people gather.
