Pukúu Wellness Hour
Pukúu Cultural Community Services has made it our focus to continue efforts at providing useful and meaningful information and updates to the American Indian Community of Los Angeles County and beyond regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic- which is demonstrated through our commitment to provide connection, linkages and partnerships & making community our priority. Pukúu is proud that we have been part of overall successful efforts at reducing the COVID-19 rates in Los Angeles County for American Indians/Alaska Natives, as well as increase vaccination percentages. In the months ahead, Pukúu plans to continue its endeavor towards our goal of ensuring up-to-date and useful information and resources to the American Indian/Alaska Native Community of Los Angeles County, while affirming our position that cultural connections, health/wellness strategies, and addressing direct family needs are essential to ensure a successful campaign against COVID-19 transmission in the American Indian Community.
Pukuú Cultural Community Services continues to host events that are safe, informative and engaging in order to continue to promote to the community. With these Bi- weekly virtual events, Pukuú hopes to continue to connect with the Indigenous community here in Los Angeles, as well as across Indian Country.
We would like to acknowledge that Los Angeles Country is the ancestral homelands of the Tataviam, Tongva, and the Chumash.
We acknowledge them as the past, present, and future caretakers of the lands.
